Occupying a secluded, rural location near the Norfolk/Suffolk border, this delightful cottage offers the perfect country escape. Sleeping two guests and welcoming one beloved pup, it’s ideal for a romantic retreat or a solo adventure away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Set in the hamlet of Ilketshall St. Margaret near the market towns of Beccles and Bungay, it offers easy access to the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads as well as the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
Set within the owner’s grounds yet enjoying its own privacy, this single-storey cottage has been beautifully remodelled in an elegant, contemporary style. Flooded with natural light, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is the heart of the property. The modern fitted kitchen is spacious and well equipped with a breakfast bar for sharing meals for two. A plush sofa invites relaxing evenings in, catching up on your favourite TV shows, while an armchair is perfectly poised for wildlife watching in the garden. The tranquil, king-size bedroom promises nights of restorative sleep, while the chic bathroom has a separate shower and a bath, adding a spa-like element to this charming property. Stepping outside, the garden is an oasis of calm, with space for dining alfresco or simply enjoying your morning cuppa to the soundtrack of birdsong.
Set in the Waveney Valley, the market towns of Beccles (8 miles) and Bungay (2.5 miles) both feature an array of quirky shops and delicious eateries, along with a scattering of historic sites. Beccles is also known as the gateway to the Southern Broads, making it a good spot to hire a boat and explore the Broads National Park. For a traditional day at the British seaside, head to Southwold (15.5 miles), while Dunwich Heath and rspb Minsmere (both 19 miles) are paradise for birdwatchers.

Very quiet area with good supermarket and a lovely small town, Bungay, within two miles. Ideal to get away totally as no WiFi.
Mrs Whelan
Peacehaven is an absolute gem of a place. It is set in a quiet private garden . Me, my husband and our spaniel spent a wonderful few days relaxing in the garden, reading and snoozing- so peaceful. We particularly loved the fact that a portion of the garden was fenced off so that the dog could run free. The cottage itself was easy to find and off the beaten track - it’s really well positioned to visit lots of places in Suffolk and Norfolk. We were happy to try out local walks and bought an ordnance survey map of the area in nearby Bungay - there are some delicious eateries here and just a couple of miles away. We would definitely recommend Peacehaven as a “ get away from it all” holiday!

Peace Haven is an apt name for this place. A lovely quiet setting with owners answering queries very quickly. No wi-fi but nice to have time to read and watch the tv
