About this property

A home from home on the Suffolk coast, this fabulous mid-terrace cottage provides a delightful base for five guests to get to know splendid Southwold. Any family is free to leave the car behind and wander the pretty streets of this seaside town, ambling down to the beach (300 metres), discovering local businesses, and taking in the area’s rich maritime history. One appealing attraction, Southwold’s famed lighthouse, is viewable from one of the bedrooms on the first floor, a joy to wake up to each morning.

The local area is celebrated in this well-presented townhouse, where guests will find Suffolk-made cupboards and worktops in the well-equipped kitchen, and a bespoke wooden table to sit around at mealtimes. After you’ve eaten in this airy, open space, move through to the lounge to unwind for the evening. Here, curl up on the sofa with a good book as the open fire roars and the Smart TV plays your favourite films. When bedtime calls, walk past the convenient ground floor wet room and head upstairs where three sumptuous bedrooms await, all served by the well-appointed family bathroom. These bedrooms include a king-size room that can be converted to twins on request, a king-size bedroom, and a cosy single. Outside, enjoy morning coffees and al fresco evening meals at the bistro-style table in the private courtyard that awaits.

When the weather is warm, the golden sands and glistening waters of Southwold Beach are ready and waiting for an unforgettable day of ball games and sunbathing. Wander up to the pier (0.5 miles) and savour endless fish and chips on the promenade. For an easy, enjoyable walk, wander on down to Walberswick (1.5 miles), taking the passenger ferry across the river. For walks a little further away, take in the spectacular scenery at Dunwich Heath, and spot thrilling birdlife at rspb Minsmere (both 10 miles).
