Guests say

Smugglers Cottage in Southwold is highly praised for its superb location, comfort, and traditional charm. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, spacious living areas, and the quaint garden. The cottage's proximity to shops, the beach, and local amenities like Adnams is frequently mentioned. While some guests noted steep stairs and a minor issue with a bath tap, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating high standards are met.

The location is repeatedly highlighted as excellent, being close to the high street, shops, seafront, and local attractions, making it an ideal spot for visitors.

Comfort is a strong point with guests finding the cottage spacious and cosy, with an open fire for chilly evenings. However, steep stairs were a concern for some, slightly impacting the comfort score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living spaces. A minor issue with a bath tap and the mention of steep stairs suggest room for improvement.

While guests mention a welcome package, there is not enough consistent detail about thoughtfulness or gifts to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such amenities are subject to change and not guaranteed.

Smugglers Cottage is the perfect place if you're planning a visit to Southwold! Clean, comfy and spacious it was perfect for us (a group of 3 couples). The location couldn't be better, just off the main Highstreet and minuets walk from all the shops, the beech and most importantly the lord nelson!
