There some fabulous cafes, pubs and restaurants too, in fact you could easily spend a week in the town and have plenty to entertain with the beach, lighthouse, pier all close at hand.
If you’re planning on getting out and about why not hire a bike or try your hand at paddle boarding or surfing. This entire area of Suffolk is a myriad of footpaths - walk along the river bank or explore one of the nearby villages or visit rspb Minsmere, just a short drive away. You could of course just stay in Southwold… take a stroll along the beach, stop of for a beer and cockles at one of the pubs and just chill.
