Guests consistently praise The Stables for its high standards, cleanliness, and the warm welcome provided by hosts Steph and Jarrod. The property's hot tub is frequently highlighted as a highlight, offering relaxation after exploring the local area. Attention to detail and thoughtful touches, such as welcome cakes and wine, contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The property's location is appreciated for its accessibility and proximity to attractions and dining options.
Reviewers unanimously commend the property for its immaculate condition, noting the high level of cleanliness throughout. The Stables is consistently described as spotless, contributing significantly to guests' comfort and satisfaction.
The location is generally praised for its convenience and ease of access to local attractions and restaurants. However, some guests mention traffic noise and a lack of comfortable walking options for dogs due to the proximity to a main road, which slightly impacts the score.
Guests find The Stables comfortable, with special mentions of the cosy beds and well-furnished living spaces. A few comments about the sofa and bed suggest room for improvement, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
Facilities at The Stables, especially the hot tub, are highly regarded by guests. The communal garden and private courtyard are also appreciated. Some minor feedback on additional amenities like a larger coffee pot and cooking tongs suggests there is a little room for enhancement.
The thoughtful gestures by the hosts, such as welcome packs with cakes, wine, and dog treats, are frequently mentioned and appreciated. While these gifts are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though common, should not be expected with every stay.

The cathedral city of Hereford lies on the banks of the River Wye and dates back to Saxon times, with its medieval bridge that runs across the river providing the very image of picturesque England. With an eclectic mix of architecture, which can be traced back to almost every British era, Hereford is a popular base for those seeking to explore the locale. Ideally placed for accessing the Black and White villages of the region, not to mention the delights of neighbouring Shropshire, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds. Famous for its cider-production, Hereford is also the home of the Mappa Mundi, the largest and most elaborate pre-15th century map in existence, which resides in the cathedral alongside the famous Chained Library; a collection of over 1500 rare books from as early as the 8th century. Close by is the half-timbered town of Leominster, filled with medieval buildings, often overhanging the street, and also accessible is the natural splendour of Symonds Yat, a rocky outcrop on a 5-mile bend of the River Wye, with spectacular views and the opportunity to spot protected Peregrine falcons flying from their nests.

The heating is great and heats up quickly. Cons about the property is that every lodge that is loading/unloading parks outside the big window so it felt like you had to keep the blinds closed for privacy otherwise they could look in at you sitting on the sofa. Property looks smaller than the photos. The gate to other lodges is attached to the side of this Lodge and everytime someone goes through it bangs. A hoover or big brush would have been handy, after a few days there it definitely needed it.

It has everything you need for a very enjoyable stay and was spotlessly clean The hot tub was brilliant and we made use of it every day, sometimes twice a day. Jarrod and Steph were very friendly and helpful and a big thanks for the cakes and milk, and for doggy biscuits. Set on a lovely estate with a great garden for the dogs it felt very cosy. Being on a busy road there was a fair bit of traffic noise during the day and evening but not enough to bother us . Our only small issue was that we seemed to have restricted WiFi access and couldnât open all emails and certain apps on our phones. This again was not a big issue whilst away on holiday and wouldnât stop us staying again. Thanks again both for a wonderful stay. Les and Jan (& Misty)
