A traditional end-terrace cottage, part of which dates back to the 1650s, ideally located on the outskirts of the ancient town of Clun, over the road from St. Georges Church, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The owner's personal touches are evident throughout the cottage, which combines the comforts of modern day living with many original features, including wall and ceiling beams and a stone fireplace. The main entrance hall provides space for bike, boot and outdoor equipment storage. Enter the handmade wooden kitchen, which is very well equipped including a Tassimo coffee machine, and dining area, ideal for relaxing with friends over a lazy Sunday lunch. The sitting room next door boasts reclining leather sofas and an original fireplace housing a Clearview woodburning stove, perfect for cosy evenings. The three first floor bedrooms have original wall beams and lovely views across the surrounding fields to the woodland beyond. Outside is an enclosed garden with a patio area, perfect for enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the countryside whilst dining alfresco or relaxing with a good book. The pretty town of Clun has many amenities, including two good pubs, a family butcher and a village store, as well as offering many lovely walks, with the Jack Mytton Way and Shropshire Way running through the village and the Offa's Dyke Path also close by. A wonderful cottage for a memorable holiday at any time of year.
A.E. All cutlery supplies, tea towels, comfy sofas (with lazy boy seats!), blankets, wood burner, smart TV - the works! We (5 adults) had a lovely stay and although Clun is small, it's got a lot to offer - both an ideal base for exploring the Shropshire countryside as well as local walks right from your doorstep. It's a picturesque place to be, with some very friendly local pubs and several useful local shops for supplies within walking distance. Oh, and the postcard cafe was a treat! Also had great communication from Lorraine (the owner), with all the details we needed for our stay. Thank you so much, we'd love to return for a longer stay next time!
