Guests say

Guests consistently praise Shire's End for its well-equipped amenities, cleanliness, and charming location. The property's unique 'Hobbit Hole' theme delights visitors, and the hosts, Pete and Karen, receive commendation for their welcoming and helpful nature. The picturesque setting and thoughtful touches, such as welcome baskets, contribute to a memorable stay.

Reviewers frequently mention the cleanliness of the property, highlighting it as extremely well-kept and tidy, which suggests a high standard of cleanliness throughout.

The location is described as perfect, peaceful, and scenic, with beautiful views and proximity to local amenities. Its setting on the borders of Wales adds to its appeal.

The property is often referred to as cosy and welcoming. However, a few guests noted the mattress comfort and seating could be improved, slightly reducing the score.

Facilities are generally praised for being well-equipped and thoughtful, including a well-appointed kitchen and smart TV. Some minor feedback on shower power and additional hanging space suggests room for improvement.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like welcome baskets with treats and home-grown garlic. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Little Hereford 1.2 miles. Shire’s End is a unique, underground pod built into the hills on the grounds of the owner’s farm close to the hamlet of Little Hereford, Shropshire. Step into this delightful base and discover the wooden interior, complete with timber taken directly from Sherwood Forest. Make use of the kitchen space, well-equipped given the size of the pod, featuring an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and coffee machine, so you can prepare meals with ease. Serve your culinary creations at the breakfast bar before relaxing on the armchairs and tuning into the TV. End each day with a refreshing shower before retiring to the double bed and dreaming about your next adventure. Just outside to the front of the pod is a small seating area where you can sit back and appreciate the tranquil farm setting. When you’re ready to explore, head into Ludlow and wander the medieval streets, popping in and out of independent shops before choosing from a range of excellent dining and pub options. A very cute little hobbit hole for the perfect week away. Pete and Karen are lovely hosts and our neighbors (their sheep) were wonderful to wake up to every morning!
