The property is not five star luxury but that’s reflected in the price. We had use of a really warm pool and used the hot tub. Unlimited supply of logs for the burner, The teenagers played chess and snooker. The adults gathered around the fires and chatted. It was clean, it was warm and we had an amazing time. Plenty of spaces for the different groups in our party to relax. Beautiful views, lovely walks. We would stay again. It’s quirky, it’s old, it is a bit tatty round the edges, it’s creaky it’s beautiful.

Ample space for everyone, there was 22 of us and the bedrooms were large, enough bathrooms, and very generous living space. We cooked a huge roast dinner on the Sunday and the 3 ovens and 4 fridges made this very easy! Lots of tools pots pans in the kitchen to use as well. The house is a classic old Manor house. It is old, the doors and floorboards creak, it is clean fresh beds, clean baths showers etc. The bbq is small and coal so had to use the oven to cook most of our bbq. If you are looking for a modern, clinically clean house - this one isn't for you. The hot tub is up a slippery narrow path - again didn't bother us but might some. There is a chlorine guy that turns up everyday to check the chlorine levels of the pool and hotub. There was a leaky shower which I messaged the owner about and he got back to me straight away. Our group had a great time as we didn't mind the quirks of the house - it made trip and we would go back again.

The cottage itself is massive the kids loved playing hide and seek. Need a bloody good clean and really dated spiders every were but it was fine. Anyway Saturday night was our party night as some of our family had to leave sunday for work Monday. Lit the fire in the main livingroom all cozy, next min the roof starting leaking. I don't mean a little bit it was pouring in. Sofa was soaked, floors were soaked. It was coming in from the light sockets so couldn't turn lights on. Anyway we spend most of the night mopping, grabbing pans, bath mats anything we could find to soak it up. It's a shame really because we was having a ball up until then. I did contact sykes but owner said it was down to heavy rain fall. But am sorry my house doesn't leak when it rains. Being waterproof is sort of standard for a house I would of thought.
