Guests say

Hillgate House is a well-loved cottage, praised for its secure garden and peaceful, rural setting. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, comfort, and suitability for dogs. The absence of internet contributes to a complete escape, though some guests miss the convenience. The area's natural beauty and wildlife are consistently enjoyed, with many visitors returning multiple times for the tranquility and homely feel.

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning its spotless condition and well-kept appearance. The diligent cleaner, Diane, is specifically praised, indicating consistent standards.

The location is highly regarded for its peacefulness and picturesque surroundings, ideal for exploring Shropshire and the Welsh borders. However, a few concerns about a noisy children's home and fast-driving locals slightly affect the score.

Comfort is frequently highlighted, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. The secure garden is a hit with dog owners, and the presence of wildlife adds to the comfort of the stay.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped. However, the lack of Wi-Fi, a freezer, and some issues with hot water and TV signal reception have been noted, leading to a slightly lower score.

While many reviews express gratitude for the cottage's amenities and the owner's helpfulness, there are no specific mentions of gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness based on gifts, and the score is set to null.

Only downside is no internet and no mobile signal. I had to drive to top of nearby hill to get mobile signal and internet connection. Interestingly right outside are new poles with fibre marked on them. Connection of basic internet would have made stay perfect. Lovely enclosed garden for our dog to play in, along with the large variety of birds. House immaculately clean on arrival. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - many thanks.

Probably the best weve stayed in. Well equiped, beautifully decorated and furnished. A real home from home. Total tranquility with a large and lovely dog safe garden. Couldnt fault anything.

My foster dog enjoyed investigating the lovely big garden - and watching the birds was great for me.
