About this property

Discover the delights of rural Shropshire with a stay at this five-star home, originally built in the 1600s as staff quarters for a farmhouse. You’ll be in a gloriously tranquil spot 1 mile from the nearest pub and 5 miles from Shrewsbury, an old market town filled with lovely Tudor half-timbered houses – and excellent for shopping and eating out. This beautifully refurbished home sits on a private 200-acre, family-run farm, providing an idyllic setting for groups of up to four and their four-legged companions.

This country cottage still has some of its beautiful wooden beams, creating an elegant atmosphere enhanced by light-coloured walls and quality wooden furniture. Relax with family and friends in the open-plan living space, which is bathed in natural light. Cook up feasts in the elegant kitchen, with white units and stone work surfaces, and light up the wood burner if you’re chilly. You’ll have one bedroom on the ground floor – a luxurious king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and direct access to the garden. Upstairs in the eaves, the master suite is a true haven, featuring those original oak beams, a super-king bed and a lavish en-suite bathroom with a free-standing bath, perfect for soaking away the day. There’s plenty of space to relax outside, too, with a walled orchard garden where children and pets can roam safely and a patio area that''s perfect for al fresco dining, all while soaking up the stunning countryside views.

Locally, take the dogs for long, satisfying walks in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape (5 miles), or explore some fascinating history at the excavated Wroxeter Roman City (9 miles). The iconic Ironbridge Gorge (15 miles) offers a glimpse into the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. National Trust sites at Carding Mill Valley (11.5 miles) and Wilderhope Manor (18 miles) are excellent for afternoons out, or you could enjoy a quiet wander down the mediaeval streets of Bridgnorth (22.5 miles), perhaps picking up some local produce at its vibrant market (Fridays and Saturdays).
