Walnut View is a well-received cottage in the Peak District & Derbyshire Dales, praised for its spaciousness, beautiful setting, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests enjoyed the property's immaculate garden, comfortable beds, and the local village's dog-friendly pubs. While some minor maintenance issues and additional information on local amenities were suggested, the overall experience was positive, with many guests recommending the property and expressing a desire to return.
The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some guests found it comfortable and clean, others noted issues with oven cleanliness, chipped plates, and the need for a more thorough cleaning of kitchen cupboards. These isolated incidents suggest room for improvement, but overall, the property was maintained to a satisfactory standard.
The location of Walnut View is highly regarded, with guests appreciating its countryside setting and proximity to pretty villages and dog-friendly pubs. Its rural charm and access to walking trails added to the appeal, although some noted it was a bit remote for those without transport.
Comfort levels were generally high, with praise for the property's spaciousness and comfortable beds. However, some guests felt that the sofas were not large enough for six adults, and there were suggestions for king-size beds and minor improvements to enhance comfort further.
Facilities at the cottage were well-received, with a well-stocked kitchen and ample space. Nonetheless, guests mentioned the need for additional kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and clearer instructions for appliances. Maintenance issues like a loose tap and a wasps' nest were also reported, indicating a need for attention to detail.
There is insufficient information to assess the level of thoughtfulness as there are no mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Stayed here with our two Daughters in their mid-twenties & their Boyfriends & their two puppies. Plenty of room for Everybody to be together and had the best time ever! Walks off-road immediately outside the property which was great as didnât need to get in the car every time. Great dog friendly pubs nearby that you can walk to.. plus a convenience store. So much to do. The week flew & plan to go back for another Family Reunion in April for another week for my Husbandâs big Birthday

He also enjoyed his game of treasure hunting finding a watch under a cupboard, a ball left by a previous pet and some sweets under the sofa. We were suprised not to find information on when to put the bin out or recycling, the tap was loose in the cloakroom and we couldn't find the head attachment for the vacuum cleaner. There was still a free wasps round so we couldn't leave doors or windows open but it also wasn't the weather to have them open. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the trip out to Cannock Chase and the resevoir was good. We played games in the evening and it was a relaxing stay.

The enclosed garden was perfect for our puppy. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, cutlery, cups, plates pots and pans. The beds were comfortable and the showers were powerful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had some great walks out. A few things we felt were missing, an iron and ironing board, a washing line or clothes maiden, place mats for the kitchen table. Negatives! There was a wasps nest to the side of the house, we reported it and someone came out 3 days later, it just meant we couldn't have all the windows open which was a shame as the weather was lovely. (Hopefully that is all sorted, the guy said it was a big nest). The cushions for the patio furniture were stacked up and wet through, maybe store them in the utility room. And the bbq was left dirty and the lid was broken.
