Guests consistently praise the cottage for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location with stunning views. The property is well-equipped and maintained, offering a cosy atmosphere with thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. The steep hill to the town centre is noted, but the charm and amenities of the cottage make it a highly recommended stay.
Reviewers frequently mention the exceptional cleanliness of the cottage, describing it as spotless and well-maintained, which indicates a high standard of hygiene and care.
The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to local attractions, despite the steep hill mentioned by some guests. The convenience of parking and the central position in Shropshire are appreciated.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the wood burner. The provision of soft towels and a comfortable bed is frequently noted.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped for guests' needs. Some minor feedback on kitchen equipment and sensitivity of smoke alarms suggests room for improvement, but overall, the facilities meet guests' expectations.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident in the welcome packs provided, which include items like milk, Prosecco, and biscuits. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such offerings may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.
Settled in the historical village of Ironbridge in Shropshire, overlooking the River Severn, rests this delightful detached cottage, 32 Church Hill. Enjoying central location, just paces away from iconic attractions and countryside pubs, this charming cottage is ideal for both family and friends. Park up outside on the road, where you can move your luggage inside with ease and admire the view down to the river. Enter the compact kitchen area, with a feature fireplace and pale grey cupboards, here the chef of the group can use the gas cooker to rustle up treats. Stepping through your holiday home, discover the bright sitting room, here a crackling woodburning stove takes centre stage; kick back and unwind on the sofa in front of the large TV. When dinner is ready, settle down at the elegant dining table and be sure to uncork a bottle of wine to toast to your occasion. Climb upstairs to choose between a king-size double and a single, both offering views of the gorge below. Why not indulge in a bubble bath in the family bathroom or perhaps rinse off in the overhead shower to freshen up? In the morning, pop the kettle on and relish the calming surroundings in the rear court yard as you ponder the excitement of the day ahead. A scenic stroll will lead you to the Industrial landmark of the Iron Bridge and you can brush up on your history at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. Jump in the car to visit the nearby town of Telford, where you can soak in the sights on the Telford Steam Railway, enjoy a picnic at Chelsea Gardens and marvel at the wildlife at the Exotic Zoo. Settled within the loop of the River Severn is the country town of Shrewsbury, home to a Redstone castle, an 18th century prison, and Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery to unveil the past. For a wonderful break, with lots to see and do, choose a stay at 32 Church Hill.
The origin of the Industrial Revolution is known all throughout the world as Ironbridge Gorge. The area is no longer industrial, and most of the former industrial sites have been recovered by nature, creating a unique and attractive wooded valley. The gorge is now a network of trails, bridleways, and rural lanes, while the charming settlement is known for housing the world's first iron-made bridge, which was completed between 1777 and 1779. The Ironbridge Museums Trust, which includes the intriguing Blists Hill Victorian Village, features a collection of eleven industrial and Victorian themed museums, featuring a magnificent selection of pubs, restaurants, stores, and tea rooms. Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn Valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum, and many National Trust properties, are all within driving distance.
