The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

The owners had made it very cosy and it was spotlessly clean. The welcome gifts were very special and put us in the holiday mood straight away. Very good value for money and I would highly recommend this cottage to other guests. Private note to owner (please delete from public review) - just to make you aware the double sheet had a bit of a stain on it (possibly blood), it was clear the sheet had been washed and it was clean but it may need replacing. When we arrived we were a bit confused if we should access the house by walking through the front garden of the neighbour so it may just be worth adding some further directions on the welcome email. Just a couple of minor things I thought may be useful to feedback. We had a great stay and would love to come back, you have a lovely place. Loved the welcome gifts.

Very very clean. Loved the welcome pack which contains various teas, biscuits and chocolate and very much appreciated the bottle of Prosecco!! The house had been decorated for Christmas which was lovely. It was well equipped and we could find almost everything except a spatula to get eggs out of the frying pan in the morning. I would highly recommend, unless you have any mobility issues or struggle with stairs as they are steep, fine for us but just to note for future occupants. We only used the games room once as it was a bit tight and a bit chilly in the winter but we still had fun. Overall we had a really lovely stay. Thank you.

It smelt lovely as we entered the property and was immaculately clean. The welcome box and bottle of proseco was a lovely surprise also the treats for our little dog. The bed was lovely and comfortable although a little too soft for my husband. We enjoyed the games room. A couple of suggestions - somewhere to hang wet coats in the porch way?; a small bottle of milk would be very welcome; a hairdryer (we couldn't find one). The Bronte hotel/ restaurant is within walking distance and had excellent food. And Haworth Old Hall in the village also excellent for food...need to book. We would definately recommend 4 Tyne Street
