Haworth 1.3 miles. Lying in the village of Cross Roads with Lees near the historic Haworth in West Yorkshire is 8 Lune Street. This wonderful stone-fronted cottage welcomes four guests in two bedrooms and two canine companions as well as boasting a cobbled garden with patio furniture, making it the perfect setting for couples or families seeking a countryside retreat in West Yorkshire. After a fun-filled day exploring the surrounding towns, settle down on the sofa in the sitting and allow the crackling woodburning stove to warm the room, providing a homely ambience. Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen to whip up a hearty meal that the group can enjoy at the dining table or if the sun is shining indulge in an alfresco affair at the garden table and watch as the sun sets over the rolling Yorkshire fields. When sleep calls, climb the stairs where two double rooms await serviced by a sleek shower room; be sure to get some well-earned rest before another busy day in West Yorkshire. Wander the village, where the famed Bronte sisters were raised and take in the breath-taking landscapes and moorlands that served as the inspiration for such works as Wuthering Heights. The Old Sun Inn and Haworth Old Hall, both dating back to the 16th-century, are just two of the many great eating and drinking establishments that can be found as you stroll the town's charming cobblestone alleys. The history buffs in your group will enjoy learning more about the Bronte family at the Bronte Parsonage Museum, embarking on the Railway Children Walk, and then relaxing with a pint at the welcoming Wuthering Heights tavern or having a scenic train journey through the countryside on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. The next stop is the busy market town of Keighley, where you can visit the Ingrow Loco Museum or the Keighley Bus Museum, or, if you're not into transportation history, the beautiful East Riddlesden Hall or the stunning Cliffe Castle, all of which are owned by the National Trust. Visit the Heptonstall Museum and take a stroll along the picturesque canal in the beautiful town of Hebden Bridge. If you'd like, you can also spend the day in nearby Skipton. Halifax is home to many impressive manor houses, and nearby Bradford is where you'll find Saltaire, a World Heritage Site. Further afield, you can enjoy the delights Todmorden with its Hippodrome, Centre Vale Park, and Todmorden Golf Club, and Skipton with its remarkable castle, local market, and the Yorkshire Food and Drink Festival which takes place annually in July. 8 Lune Street is a great base for those wanting to explore the wonders of the Yorkshire Dales.
The Bronte sisters, who lived in the nearby town of Haworth, drew inspiration from the rolling countryside for their now-classic works of fiction. The village of Haworth, made famous by Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, is a wonderful example of a town that seems to have been forgotten by the passage of time, with its many curious and antique shops, narrow alleys, and cobblestone streets. The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, made famous by the movie The Railway Children, runs regularly to the historic village of Oxenhope and offers a wonderful day trip. Numerous tourist attractions, such as the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and York's National Railway Museum, can be found in the surrounding area. Skipton, a popular tourist destination and the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is not far away, and neither are Harrogate's refined charms or the pulsating energy of nearby cities like Leeds or Manchester.

.we had to put the seat cushion from one of the sofas as a back cushion so my Mum could sit more upright...the bin in the kitchen was tiny..more for use in the bathroom..the beds were extremely comfortable and the central heating was warm and cosy heating the house up quite quickly..lovely cottage and I relieved a txt from the owner asking if we had arrived safely and if all was OK etc .and then a txt at the end of the holiday thanking us for visiting..would recommend this cottage .

When we got there it was warmer outside than inside. Stayed one night then left and went home to be warm. it was hot upstairs in the morning but still cold downstairs. Very little information regarding what to do with the heating or appliances. Big tv but very dated and not a smart tv either.

Cottage was freezing when we arrived so could have been timed to come on for before we arrived. It was not spotless as claimed; it smelt musty, cobwebs on ceiling and in windows. In under bed in second bedroom was an old chocolate and bits that had not been vacuumed the cupboards in that room also had hardbacks / woodlice in the bottom of it. The cooker lid was covered in grease as was one of the dishes in the oven. There was no instructions on how to use the heating thermostat. The bathroom could have been cleaner the two cups in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The fridge was clean but smelled of sour milk. Other than that the sheets and towels were clean, beds comfortable . Ideal spot for walkers and visiting lovely villages, buses very regular if you don't want to drive.
