Well-known as The Gateway to the Dales, Skipton has a bustling high street, which won an award in 2008 for being the best shopping street in Britain and Ireland, and the town has also been voted the best place in Britain to live. Skipton offers a wide selection of restaurants and tea rooms, whilst the traditional market sells fresh produce throughout the year including local cheeses, fish, meats and fresh vegetables. This is an ideal Skipton cottage for a small family or a couple on a romantic retreat.
Skipton, known as The Gateway to the Dales offers a castle, market, a canal, stream train excursions and a number of shops, pubs and tea rooms. There are many places to visit within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and an abundance of walks and cycle routes can be enjoyed in the area.
