Guests say

Mill Hey is a well-received apartment praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and decor. It's well-equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen and comfortable living spaces. Its proximity to local attractions and public transport is appreciated, although some guests noted the lack of garden access for pets and steep access which may not suit those with mobility issues. The thoughtful touches of tea, coffee, and biscuits were well-received, though not guaranteed for every stay.

Most guests found the apartment to be clean and well-presented, with only one report of it not being very clean. The majority opinion suggests a high level of cleanliness.

The location is generally praised for its convenience to public transport and local attractions. However, concerns about steep access and parking challenges slightly affect the score.

Guests found the apartment comfortable, with spacious rooms and adequate facilities. However, suggestions for blinds to improve sleep quality and the mention of steep stairs impacting night-time bathroom visits slightly lower the comfort score.

The apartment is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, but there are repeated calls for blinds on the windows and clearer instructions for appliance use and rubbish disposal. Due to the lack of consistent information on maintenance issues, such as the reported nail on the stair runner, a definitive score cannot be provided.

Guests appreciated the stocked coffee, tea, and biscuits, indicating a level of thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, the score reflects this uncertainty.

About this property

Well-positioned within the centre of Haworth, West Yorkshire, is Mill Hey, a first-floor duplex apartment welcoming four guests. Just paces away from a host of shops and eateries, whilst located between both the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Peak District National Park, the apartment offers a homely base for a family or group of friends, whilst providing a contemporary interior and flexible sleeping arrangements. Park up on the roadside before ascending the stairs to the first floor, where you'll locate the well-equipped kitchen, designed with state-of-the-art appliances and sleek cabinetry. This level also houses the living/dining room, where you can enjoy meals as a four, lounge in front of the electric fire, and plan your impending itinerary. When sleep calls, complete your nightly routine in the bathroom, before climbing up to the second floor, home to three well-appointed bedrooms, featuring Velux windows and sloped ceilings; choose between a double and two single bedrooms. Come morning, prepare to explore the local area by enjoying a coffee at The Mill Hey Café or stocking up on the essentials at a nearby convenience store, before heading to a wealth of attractions; they include Brontë Parsonage Museum, Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, Bronte Waterfall, Goit Stock Waterfall, Ogden Water Country Park, and Cliffe Castle, offering a mix of historical and nature-filled activities. Travelling towards Hebden Bridge, take in the stunning landscape of Lumb Hole Falls, or overlook Hardcastle Crags, a 19th-cenury wooded valley, before stopping off at Skipton, to tour both the local castle and Craven Museum & Gallery, or hiking across Skipton Castle Woods. Experience all of this, and more, at Mill Hey.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged, and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope.

Great location, lovely rooms & well equipped. So handy for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, which was really worth a visit. Near to pubs/restaurant, co-op & spa shop & Howarth centre too. Really enjoyed our short break.

! The road was very steep to park on . Not very clean, smelt of curry when we arrived .Inside the cooker was very dirty ,no tea, washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets.Very small towels .Friend caught his foot on a nail on the stair runner.Very dirty behind the beds .Very steep stairs not good if you have mobility issues. Also paid more for this as booked for the 1940s weekend and price was increased but it was cancelled and we couldn't get a refund. After event was cancelled all prices on Sykes was reduced

Further 10-15 min walk to the main street. Ideal location. There are some steep steps into the apartment but not a concern. Apartment was decorated nicely and was spacious. There were 6 of us staying and we had adequate room, just made sure there was a rota for the bathroom! Kitchen was a lovely size and very well equipped. Overall a really pleasant stay over the new year period. Only issue was the lack of blinds on windows, we all struggled to sleep once it was daylight. We would highly recommend but would be hesitant if any of us had mobility issues. Parking outside the apartment on a really steep hill but there are other places to park of needed.
