Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently describe the property as clean and tidy, indicating high standards of cleanliness. The attention to detail in maintaining a welcoming environment is frequently commended.

The property's location is celebrated for its beautiful views and proximity to local villages and countryside. It serves as a great base for exploring the surrounding areas, with walkable destinations and a variety of nearby pubs and restaurants.

The majority of guests find the house comfortable, with cosy bedrooms and living spaces. However, a few guests mention that some furniture, like dining chairs and sofas, could be refreshed, and one bed was noted as uncomfortable.

The range of facilities, including a hot tub, games room, and cinema room, are highly praised. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, such as a problematic washing machine and the need for additional kitchen items, but these do not significantly detract from the overall experience.

Sharon's thoughtfulness is a highlight, with guests mentioning welcome gifts such as cakes, Prosecco, and decorations for special occasions. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is politely noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

As well as the local amenities, long walks and bike rides can be enjoyed in the surrounding countryside, with the Pennine Way close to the cottage. Nearby Skipton known as The Gateway to the Dales, is a popular old market town, ideal for an enjoyable day out where you can visit its medieval castle, celebrated cobbled high street and a colourful market. Further afield, other popular spots include Haworth, Grassington, Malham, Bolton Abbey and many more. This holiday home is ideal for large families and groups of friends, wanting to get away and enjoy what the stunning local area has to offer. With the Yorkshire Dales and Bronte Country on the doorstep, this makes for a perfect holiday base.

The ancient village of Cowling sits across a hillside in the Pennine Hills, just seven miles from the market town of Skipton. A thriving village, built along a main high street with stone-built, terraced houses set alongside the mills of a bygone age. The village was once sparsely populated, the bulk of the population living in Ickornshaw and Middleton, and before that on Cowling Hill, close to water sources they depended on, and the main roads of the day - now used as back roads by locals to avoid the modern day traffic. In the early days, agriculture was the main occupation, with corn being grown and ground within the village. When canal transport boomed, corn became cheaper to buy from elsewhere and so the mills in Cowling turned from grinding corn to weaving during the Industrial Revolution. The village inn was once part of a farmhouse on Cowling Hill, but was sold as changes to the structure of the village began. The son of the landlord later opened the Bay Horse Hotel on the new road, which still stands as a main feature of village life.

The dining chairs sunk when you sat down. The sofas in both living rooms were hard to get out of because they have lost there firmness. The tumble dryer didn't work. Light bulbs in big lights and little lights in the bedrooms had blown. The trees in the garden are over grown and the grass needed cutting which made the garden unusable except the hottub. The bush in the driveway needs trimming. The pool table needs a new baize and the balls kept getting stuck inside the table. Location is good.
