About this property
Howorth 1.9 miles. This charming property enjoys an elevated position in Hainworth, just near the lovely village of Haworth in West Yorkshire. Enjoying panoramic views towards Worth and Aire Valley and the moors beyond, Windyways is a superb escape for a family of four looking to spend some time in this part of Yorkshire. After a day of rambling the outdoors, kick back in the lounge, perching on the settees and choosing a film from the Smart TV. Move into the spacious kitchen, uplifted by natural lighting and hosting a wealth of appliances, including a large rangemaster cooker, this is a fabulous space for home-cooking. At the end of the room lies a small seating area where you can enjoy a cup of tea and look over the garden. Discover the inviting family bathroom, complete with roll-top bath and separate walk-in shower, so you can best decide how to freshen up. The ground-floor plays host to an attractive king-size bedroom, whilst the upstairs features a delightful twin with gorgeous valley views. The nearby town of Howorth is home to a handy launderette but is known for its Victorian buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants, plus close by is the National-Trust-owned East Riddlesden Hall and many walking routes in the area. Catch a ride on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and travel on steam or diesel trail through the surrounding countryside and villages, made famous as locations for the filming of ‘The Railway Children’. Head to the village of Haworth, a must for those history and literary lovers, boasting links to links to the Bronte sisters, where you will find the Bronte Parsonage Museum, Bronte Waterfall and the famed walking trail of Bronte Way. The charming village of Haworth is known for its picture-perfect cobbled streets and delightful offering of cafés and restaurants. Venture to the idyllic market town of Skipton and uncover the gateway to the Dales, before continuing to Hebden Bridge, famously used in the filming of the popular BBC series ‘Happy Valley’. The famed Bronte sisters, who lived in the little village of Haworth, were inspired to write their works of English literature, which have since become classics, by the surrounding moorland. Haworth is a community that time almost forgot, with a plethora of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways, and cobblestone streets providing a lovely period ambiance, all set against a framing backdrop of famously characterised as wild, rough, and bleak in the novel Wuthering Heights landscape. The famed Keighley and Worth Valley train, an actual steam train made famous by the movie The Railway Children, is close by and offers a charming day trip with a regular service to the historic village of Oxenhope. The Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York are just a few of the well-known attractions in the area. A short drive will take you to the market town of Skipton, affectionately known as the "Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales," as well as to chic Harrogate, energetic Leeds, and bustling Manchester.
