Guests appreciate the lodge's beautiful presentation, comfortable furnishings, and rural setting with wildlife views. The spaciousness and cleanliness are well-regarded, alongside thoughtful touches like milk and biscuits. However, there are concerns about finding the property, lack of information, and some maintenance issues.
The lodge is generally praised for its cleanliness, with guests finding it very clean and well-presented. However, there were instances of overlooked areas, such as under the lounge footstool, which suggests room for improvement.
The location is appreciated for its rural feel, proximity to Sewerby Hall, and access to dog walks. The setting is described as lovely with views of wildlife. Difficulty in finding the lodge due to poor signage slightly impacts the score.
Guests find the lodge comfortable, with comfy beds and a homely feel. The master ensuite bathroom is particularly praised. The need for blackout blinds and better bed linen in the spare room are minor comfort concerns.
Facilities are well-received with a spacious lodge and well-fitted kitchen. However, there are several maintenance issues reported, such as broken items and a lack of essential housekeeping items. The absence of clear instructions for equipment and emergency contacts is noted.
While guests mention thoughtful gestures like milk and biscuits, there is insufficient information to assess consistency across all stays. Therefore, it's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed.

To the north of the village, the magnificent 400 feet high cliffs are home to one of the largest colonies of nesting sea birds in England. Donât know if itâs been noticed before but both the front door to the property and the patio door on the right are out of line and there is a gap at the top edge of the front door. Just in case any water getsinto the property. Surroundings are lovely and private and there are some lovely walks. Wonderful if taking your dog. Thanks for a great stay, will be back again

No contact numbers, no instructions for any equipment. Shower in en-suite water was cold, managed to speak to owner who had a look but never returned. My husband had to put the blind back up in the second shower, it had just been thrown in a cupboard. No toilet brushes in any of the loos. No hoover in the property only a broom not even a dustpan and brush.

Really lovely furniture and comfy beds, it was like home from home. It was lovely to see the deers feeding in the mornings and the pheasant running across the green. We will book again. It did, however take awhile to find the lodge due to only the name being given and not the number. We must have driven past it at least twice before asking for help at the club house. For any future visitors it's number 32. The milk and biscuits was much appreciated. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker or cafetiere though as I missed my good cup of morning coffee.
