Just outside the town, Hornsea Mere provides a tranquil spot to unwind. Here, you’ll find Yorkshire’s largest freshwater lake – where fishing, sailing, and rowing are available – as well as a fascinating RSPB reserve. Heading inland, the attractive market town of Beverley (13 miles) makes a lovely day out, with its historic buildings, cosy pubs, racecourse, and excellent shops.
