Guests say

5 Bank Cottage is consistently praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and high-quality furnishings. The secure garden is a hit with dog owners, and the wood burner adds to the cottage's charm. Its location is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, and Lancaster, with local amenities within easy reach. While parking and steep access are occasional concerns, the overall experience is one of a peaceful and well-equipped retreat.

Guests frequently commend the cottage for its spotless condition and the sense of cleanliness throughout. The property is consistently described as well-maintained and tidy, contributing to a welcoming and comfortable stay.

The cottage's location is highly regarded for its quiet village setting and proximity to beautiful areas such as the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. While some guests mention parking challenges, the overall sentiment is that the location serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Reviewers express satisfaction with the comfort provided by the cottage, highlighting the quality bedding, cosy atmosphere, and well-furnished living spaces. The garden is also appreciated for its sun-trap qualities, adding to the overall comfort of the cottage.

Facilities at 5 Bank Cottage are generally well-received, with mentions of a well-stocked kitchen and the convenience of a dishwasher. However, some guests note the absence of a washing machine and minor maintenance issues like limited wine glasses and flaking paint on outdoor furniture. These points slightly detract from an otherwise positive view of the cottage's amenities.

While many reviews reflect a positive experience, there is no specific mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the owners. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness category accurately, and the score is set to null.

Central for exploring this beautiful area. Comfy, well equipped and nicely decorated and furnished. Safe enclosed garden for the dog and a riverside walk from the doorstep. Shame there wasn't a welcome pack, not even a pint of milk, just a couple of teabag and coffee sachets. ( maybe I've been lucky in previous cottages with lots of treats for me and the dog! ) Sadly, my stay was spoilt due to the noise from the renovations at the cottage next door. I know this is out of the owner's control, and it was only a couple of days and one evening until 8pm but it wasn't the relaxing holiday I was hoping for. Note to Skyes (as this is not the first time) please say on the description if dogs are not allowed upstairs. I wouldn't have booked if I'd known. I'm also reluctant to book anymore attached properties as this is also not the first time this has happened to me! I had a lovely holiday though as the area is stunning and the cottage is lovely.

It felt like home as soon as we walked in to the cottage. It was clean, cosy, modern yet characteristic. The location was great with lots to do nearby. The only thing we would have liked is antibacterial handsoap in the bathroom and kitchen, and maybe some cooking oil in the kitchen as we found the pans weren't nonstick. Sykes Cottages made this booking easy and I think it was great value for money. We can't wait to go back to 5 Bank Cottage!!!
