Guests say

8 Oak Cottages is a charming and well-equipped property, praised for its cleanliness, stylish decor, and thoughtful touches such as welcome packs. Its location is ideal for local amenities and exploring the countryside, although the low ceilings and steep stairs may not suit everyone. The property is pet-friendly, adding to its appeal for dog owners.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spotlessly clean and well-maintained, indicating high standards of cleanliness throughout the property.

The property is commended for its excellent location in a pleasant village with easy access to local shops, pubs, and beautiful countryside, making it a perfect base for exploration.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, with a particularly comfy bed and well-equipped kitchen. However, some mention challenges with low ceilings and the bathroom layout, which may affect the comfort level for taller individuals.

Facilities are generally well-received, especially the newly fitted kitchen and bathroom. However, some guests noted issues with Wi-Fi, outside lighting, and road noise during maintenance work, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

Reviewers frequently appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs for both guests and pets, although it is important to note that such gifts, while delightful, are subject to change and not guaranteed.

The beds where so comfortable and warm. The owners had thought about what you would need for our stay. The welcome pack was great too, even thought of the dog. The cottage is a stones throw from a shops and pubs. Good food in the Black Bull. The village is welcoming and friendly. The cottage is a great base to explore to, visited Settle, Grassington, Skipton on the train from the village.

The bathroom is modern and nice. The only issue is the toilet seat needs replacing as it is too small and moves about when you sit on it. You also have to be aware of the low beams if you’re tall like my partner. There was one issue which spoiled our break. The cottage is on the main road and they were resurfacing the road at night for several nights. We had about a dozen trucks etc. working until 12am on Monday and past 1am Tuesday right outside our window , so not much sleep,

You must be prepared for the low ceilings but when you are they just add to the character. Would definitely stay again. Only one very small criticism I couldn’t work the induction hob despite having one at home and i couldn’t get an enquiry out to the mobile number quoted to ask for help
