Everything we needed was in the cottage. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The log burner was an extra cosy comfort. Lovely garden for our dogs. The cottage was situated in the centre of high Bentham, so everything was close to it. Shops, bars, restaurants and takeaways. I didnât use the car, the whole time I was there. We went for long walks around the river. Such beautiful scenery.

It was perfectly clean, warm and welcoming. Bentham is perfectly positioned for the Dales, the coast, the southern Lakes, Forest of Bowland and the Howgills. Cakes, milk and items for the dogs were very thoughtful. It was very dog friendly even to the point of having a pleasant walk right outside the door which made particularly early morning and late night dog walks very easy. We did feel that the kitchen could have been slightly better equipped otherwise it had everything we needed. Our one concern is that the house is on the market and we would have been very upset if we had booked and then not been able to go because it had been sold.
