Swainby is a settlement in the Hambleton region of North Yorkshire. Swainby is located at the north-western corner of the North York Moors National Park. The characteristics of the settlement and the surrounding area consist of traditional Yorkshire dry stone walls, hills, sheep, heather and moorland. The town is adjacent to the ruins of Whorlton Castle. In the 19th century the housing of miners who worked the neighboring hills for ironstone and jet led to an extension of the village. Any text queries were answered within minutes. When the heating & hot water failed on Christmas Day, John was round within 15 minutes & fixed it. Amanda brought round extra pans in order for us to be able to cook a full Christmas Day lunch for 9. Rose cottage was beautifully maintained with all the comforts needed for our party which aged from 6 months to 86 yrs old. The home made Christmas cake made by Amanda was a real treat. Thank you we had a magical Christmas in Yorkshire Alison

Spacious, comfortable and cosy. Gorgeous sofas and chairs. Lots of space and a well stocked kitchen. Ive never used an Aga before, but we loved it. The ensuites for each bedroom are a fantastic bonus and the beds are extremely comfortable. It was great having the additional seating area in the kitchen as well as the beautiful lounge to retire to after a meal. The art work was a firm favourite too. Great location with lots of lovely places to visit nearby. Lovely owner Amanda who made us a delicious cake and popped in to check we had everything we needed. We will be back.
