Guests are charmed by the cottage's stunning river views, spaciousness, and proximity to Grassington's amenities. The well-equipped kitchen and homely touches are appreciated, though comfort levels vary with some beds and seating. The garden is a highlight, offering a tranquil setting and direct access to scenic walks.
The property generally receives high praise for cleanliness. However, a few guests noted issues with dishes not being clean and the presence of cobwebs and dog hairs, suggesting occasional oversights rather than a persistent problem.
The location is consistently lauded for its beautiful views, easy access to local walks, and proximity to the village centre. It's described as idyllic and perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
The property is found to be homely and spacious, with several comments on the comfortable living spaces. However, some guests mentioned low seating and less comfortable beds in certain rooms, indicating room for improvement in this area.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen and garden. Criticisms include the need for updates to certain items and the condition of the basement room. The presence of a log fire and ample crockery are positives.
While the reviews reflect a positive experience with welcome gifts such as tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits, there is not enough consistent mention of such gestures to accurately score thoughtfulness. It should be noted that while these touches are appreciated, they are not guaranteed.

Only a short walk to Grassington village centre. Plenty of places to walk nearby as well as the village. Would highly recommend the property, its location and the area as a great introduction to the Yorkshire Dales, plenty of good beer around too!

We were a party of 7 and a dog, I am 89 and my husband is 90, and the rest of the family ranged from 30 to 62, and we all enjoyed the walks and restaurants in the village, in a place which is ideally situated for exploring beautiful Wharfedale.

The house however, needs work. Damp is very noticeable and the basement room is unacceptable. Our daughters woke up cold, in damp sheets, with all belongings smelling. The attic room was hot and cramped. Only the first floor bedrooms were truly fit for purpose. Bed linen in some rooms was past its sell by date (old cream pillowcases with mismatched duvet covers). There is a lot to like too. Plenty of living room space and the house is well equipped. With some work and serious TLC, this property could be wonderful. At the moment, it isnât.
