This grand Georgian apartment features high ceilings, which makes the apartment airy and spacious, large original window seats and stunning period fireplaces in each room. Moving through the property, the kitchen offers all the appliances you need to rustle up a hearty breakfast ahead of a day of exploring, which you can enjoy at the dining table. Not enough cutlery, meaning you have to hand wash to get through to a full dishwasher load (why have such a big dishwasher for 2 people?). Fridge is missing a door shelf meaning you have to put the liquids in the main body, thus reducing space for food. Kitchen cupboard doors delaminating. One settee is like sitting on the floor, some cobwebs on the ceiling, no soap in the kitchen, no shower gels/shampoo in the bathroom........ none of which are show stoppers, and yes I would book again, but it's not luxury! but I will know for next time.

Two good pubs very close by but the highlight of our stay was watching salmon leaping at Stainforth Foss.

The renovation to the older style property had been done sympathetically but with modern conveniences and it has a lovely tiny outdoor sitting/ dining area.
