Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Everything else most satisfactory apart from shower as tray overflows & to turn off handle has to pass through a cold blast from hot.

When trying to park in the space provided we unfortunately clipped the post of the wooden stairway and scratched our car. The turn into the space is very tight and care needs to be taken. Overall our stay was good but unfortunately there was a constant smell of acetone percolating up from the nail bar below which was rather unpleasant. We think the smell was acetone and was worse in the bathroom. The ceiling and doorway in the bedroom was quite low in places and despite the warnings saying "mind your head", nevertheless I hit my head constantly. In the fridge, the freezer compartment needs defrosting. The build up of ice restricted putting items in the compartment. Please be assured that these comments are not criticism but the intention is to make the owner aware.

Good Clean and tidy well presented in good decorative order, alot of effort has been put into the property. Good location for the town of Skipton and surronding area. You could park up and stay, as walking into town is easy, canal is on the doorstep and the railway station is only a few 100 yards away. Very powerfull shower. Parking is ok for a small car but definitely not good for a low clearance car. I grounded my MG twice Attention to detail by owner and agent. Dishwaser door only opens 45 degrees as it hits a cupboard. 4 down lighters in the main room 2 flickering 1 not working 1 working. Ceiling and wall ights just a frame so very bright Cooker knobs have been incorrectly put back in place. Meaning a hob was on while off. Corrected but could occur again if not fixed. Dressing table and mirror, my wife was chuffed so many places do not have this, but mirror not usable as seat to high. No curtian or blind on stairs, so you walk from bedroom to toilet with a view from the car park. Steps up to front door 12 steps upto main living room 17 steps upto bedroom .16 Not so good.
