The property is appreciated for its character, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches, including welcome packs. While some minor maintenance issues and facilities improvements are suggested, the overall experience is positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.
Most guests found the cottage to be immaculate and spotlessly clean, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, a few mentioned finding cobwebs and a full refuse bin, slightly affecting the overall cleanliness perception.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to local pubs, scenic walks, and as a base for exploring North Yorkshire. The village setting is described as peaceful and quaint, enhancing the guest experience.
Guests consistently report the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a particularly comfortable double bed and a snug living room with an open fire. Some taller guests mentioned the low beams as a minor inconvenience.
The facilities are generally well-received, especially the well-equipped kitchen and the welcome packs. However, some guests noted the absence of a microwave, freezer compartment, and dishwasher, as well as some maintenance issues like heating problems and a leaking roof.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with several guests mentioning the welcome packs, which include homemade treats and local produce. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.
