Snaptrip says

Carvin-Tor is a well-received cottage in the Yorkshire Dales, praised for its cleanliness, welcoming atmosphere, and hot tub feature. Guests appreciate the peaceful surroundings, the property's cleanliness, and the friendly owner. While some guests mention issues with comfort and maintenance, the majority enjoyed their stay, highlighting the location and the hot tub as highlights.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as clean and tidy, with multiple reviews affirming its spotless condition. This suggests a high standard of cleanliness that guests are very satisfied with.

The location is generally praised for its beautiful countryside views and proximity to local attractions. However, some guests noted difficulty in finding the property, slightly impacting the score.

Comfort receives a good score, with many guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. However, there are a few mentions of poor quality beds and a need for better mattresses, which affects the score.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the hot tub, which is a recurring positive aspect. Some guests, however, reported maintenance issues and a lack of Wi-Fi, which leads to a slightly lower score.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches beyond the standard amenities provided, so it is not possible to assess this category accurately.

About this property

This stone-built barn conversion is located in the village of Great Langton, six miles from Northallerton. Ideal for either couples or families, this retreat is sure to impress. Wander up the enchanting steps where you will arrive at a patio area with a hot tub and seating. This makes a perfect entrance into the homely sitting room. Tied together with leather sofas, a pretty rug and a TV, you will look forward to coming home and relaxing through the evening. A double bedroom lies across the way, elevated by turquoise walls and matching bedding, which gives off an almost ocean effect. The refreshing colour scheme will guarantee you sleep peacefully. Neighbouring this, a king-size bedroom is lifted by a more neutral overtone and a sense of elegance throughout. You can pick and choose between the two, as you wish. A bathroom is nicely arranged with pleasant features to ensure you can get ready at ease. This sweeps round to an open plan kitchen; cosy and inviting while home to the basics you may desire for meal preparation. The dining area is wrapped in a floral pattern for a decorative touch. Lastly, a double bedroom completes the layout, overlooked by wooden beams and a Velux window. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to sleeping. Once you have relaxed indoors, you will of course want to unwind in the hot tub on a sunny day. For an adventure why not explore the town of Northallerton with its natural beauty, markets, tea rooms and bookshops. Coves of Runswick Bay, Sand's End and Robin Hood's Bay, along with the town of Whitby, are all within one hour's drive away. This is a glorious cottage in a memorable location.

Northallerton is a County town in the centre of North Yorkshire in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This town holds market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays, plus on the fourth Wednesday of the month, the market is joined by a farmers' market. Northallerton boasts a number of independent and national shops, including Betty’s Tea Rooms, a wine merchant and an award-winning butcher’s.

A really great base for exploring the area and visiting family, then being able to relax in the hot tub in the evening was wonderful. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and TVs in the bedrooms was an added luxury. Our only comment would be check the location carefully with the owner (who is really lovely) in advance, (especially if you are arriving in the dark because the Carvin Tor sign is not well lit) the directions on the Sykes website weren't great and sat-nav will take you to a different property.
