Guests generally appreciate the cottage's cleanliness, comfort, and central location in Pateley Bridge, ideal for local amenities and exploring the Yorkshire Dales. While some minor maintenance issues and lack of outdoor space are noted, the property's charm, proximity to shops and walks, and cozy atmosphere are frequently praised.
Most guests find the cottage clean and tidy, with only a few mentioning issues such as cobwebs and the need for better attention to detail in cleaning. The positive remarks on cleanliness far outweigh the negatives.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to local shops, amenities, and walking trails. The central position in Pateley Bridge and proximity to attractions like Brimham Rocks make it a favoured spot.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the upstairs spacious. However, some note that the living room can be cramped for four people and the lack of natural light downstairs affects the overall comfort.
While the property is equipped with necessary facilities, guests have reported maintenance issues such as broken shower, unsafe furniture, and minor electrical problems. Some kitchen utensils and appliances also need updating.
There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no consistent mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, this score cannot be accurately determined.

We, as Americans, are not accustomed to actually having to do anything other than touch a single button to adjust the heat in an entire zone of the building- but we figured that out in short order. The only suggestion for improvement is that you shortcut the checking in process, once they stay has been fully funded, but sending an email with the key lockbox code 24 hours before arrival. We could not get our American cell phones to ring through to owner's numbers provided and ended up bothering the landlord of the pub across the courtyard to allow us to use her phone. I would think it would be much less bother to both the owner and the tenants if that process could be avoided altogether. Otherwise, everything was just as described in the listing and we were very comfortable. It may be that the cookware, specifically the pots and pans could use some upgrading - the saute or skillets had been scrubbed and scratched with metal utensils so many times that the non-stick coating is peeling off. To note it, the good people at the pub were just super and seemed more than willing to help out. We enjoyed some great meals there as well as a drink or more. We would definitely come again and thanks much!
