This charming semi-detached barn conversion is quietly tucked round the corner from Mashams market square, a timeless town in Wensleydale. Setch Barn has been imaginatively converted from its former farm byre origins to offer bright and modern accommodation for your Yorkshire Dales getaway. This lovely, light-filled holiday home benefits from incredibly high ceilings, with the first floor twin bedroom bathed in light from the large lantern windows. The ground floor has the luxury of underfloor heating, including the spacious wet room, which along with the ground floor king-size double bedroom, offers comfortable and convenient accommodation for all guests. Youll also find a sociable open plan living area, the perfect place to spend time together, while outside is a patio, along with two off road parking spaces and a shed for bikes - an excellent addition, as youre sure to discover wonderful cycling in this pretty part of the country. Masham has a lovely medieval church and a Georgian town square, reputedly one of the largest in the county with a couple of cafes, pubs and shops. Aficionados of fine ale will be all too aware that this is the home of the Black Sheep Brewery, where you can take a tour before treating yourself to a glass or two in the bar. Masham is a superb base from which to explore the very best of The Dales with York, Leeds and Harrogate all easily reached within an hour. Once a great Cistercian monastery, Jervaulx Abbey sits five miles to the north of the town and has won the hearts of visitors over the years; though ruined and roofless, its an atmospheric spot well worth a visit. The beautiful remains of popular Fountains Abbey and its stunning water gardens can be found ten miles to the south of Masham. With over 800 acres of attractive grounds and ancient woodland, its very easy to find that perfect picnic spot. The historic little market town of Masham is situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale alongside the River Ure. Set in gently rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square, where a Wednesday market has been joined by a popular Saturday market. With so much to see and do in the area, this is a great place for a holiday in all seasons.

It was nice to find washing up liquid, kitchen rolll and cling wrap was provided as well as soap and cleaning products. Unfortunately information was not provided about what to do with the rubbish or recycling. We would have expected this to be included in a welcome book with other information about the property and surrounding areas which we have found in other places we have stayed. Also the property would benefit with more cookware in which we could use in the microwave. Despite other comments about a velux window blind needing providing this has not been added.
