Guests say

Guests have found The Granary to be a delightful and peaceful cottage with spectacular views and a comfortable atmosphere. The property is praised for its welcoming host and thoughtful touches, including treats for both guests and pets. It is perfectly situated for exploring North Yorkshire and offers a secure and relaxing environment.

The cottage is generally described as spotless, but there is a mention of a shower cubicle needing a deep clean and a vacuum cleaner smelling of wet dog. These seem to be isolated issues rather than a trend.

The location is highly praised for its spectacular views and peacefulness, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and exploration of North Yorkshire.

Guests have reported the cottage to be comfy, warm, and secure, contributing to a very relaxing stay.

There is limited information on the overall state of facilities and maintenance, aside from a comment on the usefulness of the boiler/laundry room for storing outdoor wear. Without more details, it is not possible to provide a score.

The host's thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of treats for guests and pets, although it should be noted that such gestures are at the host's discretion and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The historic little market town of Masham is situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale alongside the River Ure. Set in gently rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square, where a Wednesday and Saturday market is held. There are lots of walks around the area, including a 10-mile walk along the Ure, arguably one of the best in the UK. The town boasts a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs and has become best known perhaps as the home of two breweries Theakstons of Old Peculiar fame and the Black Sheep Brewery, which now brews 11 million pints of beer a year! The popular towns of Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton, Richmond and Harrogate are an easy drive away. With so much to see and do in the area, this is a great place for a holiday in all seasons
