A lovely, stone-built detached, 17th century cottage, located in the centre of the small hamlet of Appersett, just one mile from Hawes. This charming Swaledale cottage features creative, traditional styling, which combines beautifully with the original features including old oak beams, original stone flagged floor and a beautiful 18th century stone and cast iron open fireplace in the sitting room. This Appersett cottage is a real delight, and ideal for a romantic country break, with lovely interiors, much in keeping with the traditional character of the cottage, creating a cosy and warm living space. The first floor bedroom is spacious and stylish, with original crook beams and an en-suite bathroom, whilst the ground floor bedroom also features an attached wet room. Outside, an enclosed cottage garden provides a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Nearby Hawes is a popular holiday destination with a wide range of amenities including shops, pubs and tea rooms. Ideal for exploring this unspoilt area of the Dales, with its market towns, lovely scenery and access to the North York Moors, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District, this character Swaledale cottage is simply not to be missed!
The delightful market town of Hawes is the highest settlement in Wensleydale and home to the delicious Wensleydale cheese. The town is also famous for rope making; a skill passed down through the generations and a fascination for many of the visitors that come to the town. A regular market is held on a Tuesday and Hawes has many excellent shops and eateries in its midst. The beautiful limestone countryside surrounding the town provides a huge variety of walks and other outdoor pursuits, and for sightseeing opportunities the area is unsurpassed with the spectacular Hardraw Force and the Aysgarth falls just two of the natural wonders to be seen. Hawes is a delightful town and makes a superb base for a holiday in this magnificent area.
