The village was mentioned in the Domesday Book, 1086, as being in the hundred of "Land of Count Alan" and retains parts of its history with its handful of quaint churches. Visitors can enjoy playing a game of putty at Catterick Golf Limited and stretching their legs on the village's vast playing fields. Hipswell is served by multiple amenities, including: schools, supermarkets, convenience stores and eateries, meaning visitors won't have to travel far for the things they need during their stay. The village also boasts ample access to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, being in Swaledale itself, with the 268 miles-long Pennine Way trail to walk, the glorious limestone formation of Malham Cove to explore and the striking ruins of Bolton Priory to marvel at. It was particularly important to me as my daughter was crawling on the floor, and because the flat was so clean, I could allow her to do so without any hesitation. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the necessities for cooking one's own meals. The apartment is conveniently located just off the A1, which was great for exploring the local area. Shops are only a 15-minute walk away or a few minutes' drive. There are also nice playparks on the estate. Overall, it's a great find, and if we come back to North Yorkshire, we will definitely book it again.

It was ideal for visiting the local area. Having 2 double beds and 2 bathrooms was exactly what we needed and was especially welcome. Beds were comfy and amenities all good. As a new listing the owners have done a great job to get the apartment to a high standard
