It was absolutely great and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was decent quality. The kitchen and dining area are fantastic and well-equipped. There were a couple of things that could be improved- There were some light bulbs in the kitchen that needed replacing, so the area wasn’t quite as well-lit as it could be. The fire had not been cleaned from its last use and there was no ‘starter pack’ for us to make a fire, although it was advertised in the listing. We were not cold, as the central heating was great. We therefore didn’t need to go out shopping for fuel. However, if this had been provided as advertised, we would have enjoyed the novelty. These two things are minor and could be remedied very easily. They did not detract from a lovely stay in a fantastic house. We will definitely be back.

Just some slight issues with maintenance (some door handles were very loose, one fell off and left a bruise on my ankle; the upstairs toilet had a very weak flush and blocked easily - presumably this is why the plunger was next to the loo!). The only issues with cleanliness were some dustwebs by the pillows in the bedroom, and the log burner hadn't been cleaned. The facilities were brilliant - everything we could have wanted was provided. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and hope to return.

Really comfortable for a small family and the kitchen/dining room is delightful. Garden is smaller than it looks in the pictures but will lots of greenery and footpaths nearby that's not an issue. Village pub is in walking distance (dog friendly too) and is community run, friendly and welcoming. The beers rotate often and the food is good quality pub fare. Close to Leyburn for any shopping needs, Aysgarth for walks and only 20mins into Swaledale for even more walking and cycling routes. Absolutely ideal cottage for us and we'll be back. Might be worth adding some extra notes on recycling to the welcome folder as previous visitors had put everything out together mixed up and the bin men refused to take it. We did our best to sort it in to types for next time and took our own to a recycling point as it was full. Absolutely didn't impact our holiday just might be an idea to prevent it happening again.
