This charming end-terrace cottage is quietly tucked away in the small village of Nawton, midway between the pretty market towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside. With spacious rooms, the property is perfect for families wishing to explore the stunning scenery of the North York Moors, with easy access to the seaside towns of the East Coast. The entrance is through the archway and stable door, into the modern kitchen with twin aspect windows throwing in plenty of light. The generous-sized, traditional sitting room is comfortably furnished, with a dining table to one end, a cosy gas fire and French doors opening onto the pleasant rear garden. Upstairs are three attractive bedrooms, one with a romantic four-poster bed, along with the family bathroom, while there is an additional shower room on the ground floor, allowing lots of flexibility. Outside the cottage, the tranquil and private garden enables guests to relax in the sunshine and enjoy a morning coffee on the decked patio, with lovely, rural views. A gentle stroll brings you to the local pub, the fish and chip shop and an excellent Indian restaurant, while nearby Helmsley is an absolute delight with quaint tea rooms, restaurants, speciality shops and a small beck running through. In the summer months, the hanging baskets that adorn the stone buildings are spectacular and a real tribute to the town. With a 12th century castle, Duncombe Park with its walled garden and beautiful walks, it provides an excellent day out. The lively market town of Pickering lies ten miles east of Nawton and offers twice-weekly markets along the main street, along with museums, a trout fishing lake and the terminus of the North York Moors Steam Railway. This wonderful nostalgic trip takes you through the heather-clad moors to Grosmont and Whitby. With many attractions to enjoy in the area, this cottage provides the perfect base.
