Guests say

Beckdale Cottage in Pickering receives high praise for its immaculate presentation, quality furnishings, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the central location, with easy access to local amenities and attractions. The thoughtful touches, such as home-baked goods, add to the charm. While some mention minor issues with comfort and maintenance, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of guests report the cottage as very clean, with crisp bedding and well-maintained rooms. A few guests noted areas that could be improved, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, centrality, and proximity to local shops, pubs, and attractions. The village setting and easy access to public transport are frequently mentioned as highlights.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, though some guests mention the furniture, particularly the sofas and chairs, as low and potentially challenging for those with mobility issues.

Facilities are generally seen as modern and high-quality. However, some guests experienced issues with bathroom doors, parking, and noise. The lack of certain amenities like a shaver point and adequate drying facilities for laundry were noted.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with mentions of a warm welcome and complimentary baked goods. It should be noted that such personal touches, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage is very nicely furnished & decorated. The towels and bedding were good quality with plenty of towels provided for our stay. Beautiful bedrooms with very comfortable beds. The bathroom is very modern with a large walk in shower. Kitchen fully equipped with everything you need to eat at the cottage. The lounge was very welcoming with comfy seating to relax if you want to watch TV or read. Claire the owner was really friendly and nice but never intruded on our stay. I really can't fault anything about the cottage it's one of the nicest places I have stayed and we would definitely stay again.

Could not fault it at all and being next to the lovely cafe next door who serve excellent food made breakfast, with a 20% discount, an easy option. They have pretty much thought of everything you need and having a parking space is a great bonus.
