Guests say

Ducky's Cottage in Pickering is highly praised for its cleanliness, cosy ambience, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including a welcome pack and dog-friendly amenities. The location is convenient for exploring North Yorkshire, with easy access to local shops and attractions. Some guests mention road noise and a hard mattress, but these are minor compared to the overall positive experience.

Guests consistently commend the cottage for its immaculate condition, noting it as 'clean', 'immaculate', and 'very clean'. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and enjoyment of their stay.

The cottage's location is generally seen as positive, with its proximity to the town centre, local shops, and attractions. However, some guests have noted the presence of road noise due to its position on the A170, which affects the score slightly.

Comfort is well-regarded with mentions of cosy bedrooms and a log burner. However, a few guests found the mattress in the main bedroom extremely hard, and one room was described as cold and damp, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are highly rated, with guests finding the cottage well-equipped for their needs. Positive comments include a well-equipped kitchen and the inclusion of board games. Some minor issues were raised about bathroom fixtures and living space size for larger groups.

The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the welcome pack and other extras. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such complimentary items are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

It was very relaxing. We had everything we needed and appreciated all the homely extras. The garden with apple trees was great for sitting in. We managed to squeeze two cars onto the parking area with a bit of careful manoeuvring. The cottage is very small but plenty big enough for the two of us (sisters). There’s nothing much to improve- the baby/dog gate was really useful for containing dogs in the kitchen but it was awkward to use, fresh milk instead of longlife? Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with us.
