For more thrills further afield, the property is set in the stunning North York Moors National Park, where the North York Moors Railway in Pickering (7 miles) can steam you across to Yorkshire’s golden coastline. Here, enjoy buck-and-spade days in the likes of Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, and Scarborough (all within 25 miles).

Before stepping into this delightful, one-storey cottage, take a moment to appreciate your dramatic surroundings of tall trees of varying shades of green, with the forest stretching as far as the eye can see. Head on in to find that the charm continues in the form of a bright and airy, open-plan living space. Combining the lounge, kitchen and diner, the well-appointed living space is the social heart of the home, beckoning you to unwind after days of adventure. Rest weary walking muscles on the comfy sofa and flick on the Smart TV for some easy entertainment. When it’s time to eat, the stylish little kitchen boasts all you need to whip up a well-deserved feast for two, perhaps using the local ingredients you sourced earlier in the day. Enjoy the chef’s work at the cute dining table for two inside or dine alfresco in the garden if the weather permits. At the end of each day away, retire to the sumptuous king-size bedroom for a good night’s sleep, and start each morning with a rejuvenating soak in the en-suite shower room with its walk-in, rainfall shower.

Within these 6 acres await a hidden eco pod, a summer house equipped with a BBQ and wood burner, tranquil outbuildings, peaceful ponds and flowing rivers. Guests can also make use of on-site facilities – which require pre-booking with the owners – that include a wood-fired hot tub, sauna, pizza oven, gas BBQ and even an on-site chapel.
