Guests say

Park View in Filey is a well-liked cottage, praised for its excellent location near the beach and town, ideal for dog walking and family holidays. Guests appreciate the secure garden and quiet neighbourhood, though some noted a need for updates and maintenance. The presence of a nearby building site has been a point of contention for a few.

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some guests found it clean and comfortable, others reported issues such as mould, stained items, and general untidiness. The majority, however, did not raise cleanliness as a concern.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, town, and country park, making it an ideal spot for dog owners and families. Despite ongoing construction nearby, the location remains a strong point for the property.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a secure garden and good facilities for dogs. However, some guests mentioned issues with furniture comfort and bed quality, suggesting room for improvement.

Facilities are adequate, with special mentions of a good shower and Wi-Fi. However, several guests reported broken or missing items, such as remote controls, bin lids, and kitchenware, indicating a need for better maintenance and checks.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the property owners' consideration for guests' experiences.

    We would stay again

The property is clean and very conveniently situated to the beach and town. Lovely walks along the cliff top and small private garden to sit in with a good book and glass wine in the evening. Since our last visit my recommendation of a further step to the back and front of the property has made access easier and safer. Thank you for that. And there were 8 sachets of milk in the fridge but we couldn't use them as they were 2 months out of date. That wasn't an issue for us as we were able to get to Tesco later that day. The one issue that we did have is that as we were not provided with a number to the key safe by Sykes. We rang the contact details on the information sheet several times and left messages. We managed to get through to Sykes at 4pm Friday afternoon, and they gave us the wrong number initially. We were helped by a very kind neighbour and obtained the correct number from Sykes on the 2nd attempt. We gained entry 1 hour after arriving. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable holiday and will certainly return.

Great secure garden for the dogs and plenty of space in the hall for their beds. Minor issues for feedback - kick boards under kitchen cupboards/oven need securing (fell off/over while cleaning), front double bedroom has a musty smell (no obvious source), freezer needs defrosting, kettle needs descaling and one of the bath towels appeared to have dodged the wash. Some confusion on arrival regarding access as initially unable to contact the owner as advised by Sykes. Fortunately the caretaker lady was briefly returning to the property and gave us the code! The minor issues did not detract from it being a great stay and we have already rebooked for next year!
