About this property

Sea Roke is a detached bungalow settled into the wonderful seaside resort of Filey. This light and airy dwelling, situated within a Victorian-style resort, is perfect for friends and families looking to escape to the North East and Yorkshire Coast. Completed with a quality touch, the cottage offers three well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a super-king-size (zip/link can be twin on request), a king-size bed and a single bed, ensuring a flexible sleeping arrangement to suit the needs of your family. Moving through the property, you will find a streamlined kitchen which is perfect for rustling up some tasty treats before unwinding of an evening within the sitting room, where you can enjoy your favourite film on Sky Q or Netflix, whilst keeping toasty and warm in front of the gas fire. With a 55" HD Smart Android TV, superfast WiFi and DAB radio, guests will have plenty of choice for a quiet night in, if they can tear themselves away from watching wide scenic views from the living room and kitchen. Completing the ground-floor property is a family bathroom, offering a recently refurbished modern bathroom suite with large corner shower, basin and WC. Open up the patio doors to discover an enclosed garden area, where the children can enjoy the lawn area whilst you enjoy a refreshing beverage upon the elevated gravelled sitting area, perfect for enjoying the surrounding countryside views. The cottage boasts unique stunning panoramic views across protected land over just two fields to the magnificent east coast and with direct access to the Cleveland Way, a popular spot for a late evening summers walk to the Brigg or an airy stroll with different views whichever way you turn. A five minute walk brings you to the town centre, where there is a variety of tea rooms, 12 pubs and bars and independent shops, whilst a ten minute walk brings you to the seafront. Enjoy a stroll along the promenade with its brightly coloured beach huts, ornamental gardens and cafés or build sandcastles on the wonderful, long sandy beach, where you can walk for miles. Your local shop and pub is only a seven minute walk away and there are many activities for the family to be getting involved with, from pony rides on the beach to crazy golf. If you fancy an exciting cliff walk and to do a bit of bird spotting, Flamborough Head and Bempton RSPB Reserve is well worth a visit to see the puffins and kittiwakes both nearby. Alternatively, venture out to Scarborough, Britain's first seaside resort, where younger guests will be delighted with the SEA LIFE Sanctuary and Alpamare water park, Scarborough Castle, the open air theatre for concerts, the South Cliff Gardens and the North Yorkshire Water Park each offering a superb day out. If you're looking for a leisurely day out, how about visiting the elegant promenades of bright and breezy Bridlington? With its sandy beaches, award-winning promenades and historic harbour, this is a hidden seaside gem awash with kitsch traditional entertainment. Visit the funfair, amusements and donkey rides on the beach for a traditional British day out with seaside in spades. Make Sea Roke your traditional seaside holiday base.

Set in the magnificent Filey Bay, Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making it an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (rspb Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels and there is a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated and there are loads of family activities such as Alpamare UK waterpark, Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park and the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where all kinds of common and rare birdlife can be seen. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where you will find great beaches, a castle, the Rotunda Museum and the acclaimed Sea Life Centre. Other towns worth visiting close to Filey include Bridlington, Whitby, Hornsea and Saltburn, which all demonstrate the vibrancy of this picturesque North Yorkshire region.

As soon as you walked in the door you were surrounded in luxury, there is nothing cheap about the SEA ROKE, and you felt at home straight away, everything you need is there and it is all good quality. The only issue was the weather, it rained for most of the week, but that didn’t matter, the SEA ROKE was that comfortable that we were happy to stay in. Our stay was so good we booked for next year while we were there, but this time in June in the hope of having better weather. I would recommend the SEA ROKE to anyone, it is first class.

Suuny outdoor area(when the sun deemed to shine)bathroom a bit small and separate toilet would have been an advantage but as there was only two of us we managed. It might be difficult to seat five round the dining room table
