Snaptrip says

Guests have had a delightful experience at Finch 59, praising its quiet location, cleanliness, and the comfort it provides. The property is well-equipped and offers a peaceful setting with wildlife. The proximity to the beach and local attractions like Scarborough and Whitby adds to its charm. Some minor issues with maintenance and Wi-Fi connectivity were mentioned, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the property very clean and well-presented. There were a few isolated comments about minor cleanliness issues, such as crumbs on the worktop and a microwave interior that had not been cleaned, but these were exceptions in the overall positive feedback.

The location is highly appreciated for its quietness and proximity to the beach and local sights. Guests enjoyed the natural setting and the convenience of nearby facilities, including a dog-friendly pub. The steep walk to the beach was noted but considered worthwhile.

Guests consistently reported the property to be comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy living spaces. The furnishings were of a high standard, contributing to a relaxing holiday experience. A single mention of a firm mattress suggests room for improvement in bedding comfort.

The property is well-furnished and equipped for a pleasant stay, with toys for children and a well-stocked kitchen. However, there were several mentions of issues with Wi-Fi connectivity and a broken microwave, which suggests that some of the facilities could benefit from better maintenance or upgrades.

While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like the provision of buckets and spades, toys, and books, there is not enough consistent information about gifts or special extras to accurately assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null, and guests should note that such extras, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

Cayton, a small town and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, is a great place to stay if you're looking for a seaside vacation because of the abundance of services and activities available there and in the surrounding region. Historical remnants from the Second World War are scattered around the hamlet, and coastal erosion has exposed several pillboxes. While there is a decent range of pubs and stores in the hamlet, those looking for more waterfront dining options can head to neighbouring Scarborough, a lively resort town with activities to please visitors of all ages. You may learn about the area's history at Scarborough Castle and the Rotunda Museum of Geology, or you can have a classic day at the beach at one of the many amusement arcades, ice cream parlours, seafood stands, or beach huts that dot the town's sandy shores. In the North York Moors National Park, home to one of the largest expanses of heather moorland, you can enjoy a scenic stroll around the wonder of Peasholm Park or an even more wondrous outdoor adventure amidst the park's walking and cycling routes, which are suitable for people of all ages and abilities. The main reason we booked this lodge over others is that the photos showed it to be in a nice, private and secluded spot next to a line of trees providing shade, only to find on arrival that it had been moved to a less-private and hilly spot. Not happy at all and Sykes have been extremely dismissive about this, saying that they sent me an email in April - 4 months prior to notify me of the move (it's now August). I did not receive any such email. Further to this, Sykes are still advertising the lodge as though it is in its former tree-lined location! They will no doubt come back and say the previous location easily became flooded, but in a hot August this was not an issue for us. Then there was a problem with the wifi connection to my laptop. The wifi itself worked well as we connected all 3 phones, and an ipad with no problem, but I needed the owner's permission to speak with the wifi company to set up my laptop, only for Sykes to reply that the owner had stated that no-one else had had this problem, basically saying 'Tough - get on with it!' Not what I was expecting to hear. As I could not connect in order to attend to some urgent work we had to come home a day early. Overall not happy and feeling let down.

However, we found that we loved the new location. The sunny weather was captured on the balcony and it was lovely to sit there and soak it up in the mornings before heading out to explore the area. We knew what to expect from the accommodation itself and it did not disappoint. Very clean on arrival and a real home from home. Very comfortable and spacious.

May need a new can opener as we couldn't work it unless there's a knack to it? and both toilet seats need tightening quite loose.
