Guests consistently praise 'The Loft' for its idyllic setting, high-quality fittings, and cleanliness. The property is well-situated for exploring the North York Moors & Coast, with easy access to local attractions. Hosts are commended for their friendliness and helpfulness. While the loft's character and comfort are highlights, taller guests should mind the low beams. Some guests appreciated the thoughtful touches upon arrival.
Reviewers frequently mention the property's cleanliness, describing it as immaculate and well-maintained, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and convenience, offering easy access to Scarborough, Whitby, and beautiful walks, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
The majority of guests find 'The Loft' very comfortable, with a super king-size bed and cosy furnishings. However, the height restrictions due to low beams could affect taller guests' comfort.
Facilities are generally regarded as high-quality and well-appointed. A minor point was raised about the fridge having an ice box rather than a full freezer, and occasional comments on WiFi connectivity and outdoor sitting area maintenance suggest room for improvement.
Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches such as fresh milk, tea, coffee, and biscuits on arrival. While these gestures are warmly received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.
A superb, first floor studio barn conversion, set amidst stunning countryside on the owners' smallholding, in the sleepy village of Staintondale, between Whitby and Scarborough. Sympathetically converted from a stone and pantile granary, this Staintondale cottage offers a luxurious romantic hideaway for couples wanting tranquillity and privacy within a spectacular wildlife environment. Beautifully appointed throughout, this Staintondale cottage exudes style and character, with exposed beams, aged timber floors and quirky low windows. The spacious studio-style room boasts high quality furnishings, a cosy and comfortable sitting area and a sumptuous super king-size bed, an absolute delight to sink into at the end of the day! The separate country style kitchen of this Staintondale cottage has handmade, bespoke cupboards, granite worktops and a Belfast sink, with a cosy and cheerful dining area overlooking fields. With great attention to detail throughout, this well-equipped Staintondale cottage seamlessly combines tradition with modern comforts, providing an exceptional holiday home, with glorious, panoramic views towards the coast, over forestry and rolling countryside. Wander around the 14 acres of grounds and fields and you may be lucky enough to see roe deer on the edge of the wood, or foxes drinking by the pond. Guests are welcome to comb the friendly highland cows and Shetland ponies! From this Staintondale cottage, there are fantastic walking opportunities from the door, with the Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track both within a 15 minute walk. Not to be missed is the five minute drive to Ravenscar, where you can walk down to the foot of the cliffs to view the resident seal colony; an incredible sight all year round. Ideally placed, a short drive brings you to the historic seaside port of Whitby, famous for its imposing abbey, cobbled narrow streets and wonderful fish and chips! Visit nearby Grosmont and experience a trip back in time on the steam railway, or explore the pretty inland villages such as Goathland (Aidensfield) and the market towns of Pickering and Malton. With such a wealth of attractions in the area, your first visit to this gem of a property will not be your last!

I could not have asked for more. The attention to detail, comfort and cleanliness are second to none. Pippa and Graham were marvellous hosts. Staintondale is a very special place with stunning views and beautiful walks from the doorstep. Don't hesitate in booking, you will be delighted with your stay.

Provided you take rudimentary self care and awareness, though, you will be rewarded with cosy and romantic accommodation in one of the most beautiful parts of England. Easy access to moors, coast and local towns makes this an attractive booking proposition. The property itself is clean, tidy and provided all our needs for a recent long weekend away. I would not hesitate to book again.
