Superbly positioned in walking distance to the golden beach at North Bay in Scarborough, this 1930's detached house is the perfect place for families and friends to enjoy a wonderful Yorkshire holiday. Beautifully furnished throughout to a high standard this exquisite property exudes character and style, a delightful retreat to return to during your stay. Set back from the main road with ample parking, this attractive house rests adjacent to Peasholm Park, a lovely place to gather for a picnic by the lake on a warm summers' day or to view the events showcased at the open-air theatre. During the winter months, the marvellous gas AGA keeps you toasty and warm in the kitchen, a beautiful, airy room to meet for breakfast with the family. This remarkable house boasts two sitting rooms, wonderfully presented in a tasteful, earthy colour scheme complementing leather sofas and art-deco style details; the second room enjoys a quirky, modern wallpaper print and an electric stove. Spoilt for choice, the two ground floor cloakrooms are accompanied by a third on the first floor alongside the family bathroom occupying an all-white shade and well-appointed fixtures. Spread over two levels, the bedrooms are all elegantly decorated in bright, fresh hues, some of which benefit from en-suite showers and the top floor rooms enjoy lovely little suntrap balconies on which to sit out and absorb the fresh Yorkshire air. As you wander up the wide staircases to the first and second floors, you will be welcomed by fabulous, stained glass windows streaming bursts of vivid colour into the large landing areas. These wonderful period features of the building can be seen in parts throughout, from the grand fireplace and oak wood panelling in the formal dining room to the large bay windows overlooking the gardens outside. For entertainment during your stay, head to the converted garage and into the games and cinema room, and enjoy some quality leisure time. For a more relaxing end to an evening, turn on the hot tub and soak in the warm bubbles in a more secluded area of the garden. Head out the door and within a short walk find the popular Scarborough Open Air Theatre, where you can catch your favourite artists performing live shows throughout the summer. Relish in the wonderful stretches of sandy beach on the North Bay and South Bay during your visit to Scarborough; the many attractions await you at this glorious seaside town of North Yorkshire, not to mention the amenities on offer at nearby Whitby via the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast. Overall, a spectacular choice for your family break away.

The kitchen doesn't work very well, it would benefit from a redesign, but the bedrooms, lounges and dining room are very comfortable. Loved the period features, Green Tor is a beautiful house.

! Winter duvets provided for all beds even in summer, opening windows very few and far between so a good nights sleep difficult. Fan provided for one bedroom but others also need one. Only 3 beer glasses and three wine glasses available for a property which sleeps 14 people!!!! Waste water escaping from down pipes from bathroom and kitchen. House needs a good deep clean, louge furniture smelly. This is not a 5 star property

Perfect location. Thank you for the Prosecco, that was a lovely touch. Thanks for swift action on lack of knives, the cleaning manager was friendly and helpful and also provided an extra water jug. The cinema room really needs some ventilation. A few more seving/mixing bowls would be appreciated as well as some food basics such as salt. An excellent holiday for all 14 of us.
