Enjoy a hearty meal at the dining space, surrounded by tasteful artwork, before settling down into the sitting area, where thoughtfully chosen soft furnishings create a characterful atmosphere. The Stoop has the added bonus of a spectacular outdoor space overlooking the pretty sandy beach, an idyllic spot to recline in the evening sunshine and reflect on your day with a glass of your favourite beverage. Freshen up in the bathroom with either a relaxing soak in the tub, or a warm shower, before getting cosy for the night in one of the five bedrooms on offer, choosing between two king-size rooms, both benefitting from en-suites, 2 double rooms, one with en-suite and a bunk bedroom. Scarborough is a wonderful location from which to explore North Yorkshire, housing a great many eateries, pubs, and convenience stores for all of your holiday essentials. Walk beside the pretty harbour, checking out the local shops on the way, before enjoying an ice cream on the beach or making the most of the watersports facilities. Scarborough has its own museum and art gallery, as well as the incredible Scarborough Castle, and there is access to many coastal walks that head towards Heyburn Wyke Waterfall and beyond, following the Cleveland Way. The North York Moors National Park is a great spot to mountain bike, birdwatch and hike, with options including trails through Wheeldale Roman Road, Blue Man-i'-th'-Moss and Mulgrave Castle. The lovely seaside towns of Staithes, Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay are also well worth a visit, offering a variety of amenities and attractions. Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. Scarborough is a great location for outdoor activities, with golf courses, lovely coastal walks along the Cleveland Way, stunning cycle routes such as the old railway to Whitby, beautiful sailing and championship quality surfing. Add to this all the usual seaside entertainment and bustling promenades located close to the beach and Scarborough is the destination with something for everyone. Ideally situated for touring the coastline and the moors, Scarborough is an ideal base for a fun-filled break.
