Guests consistently praise the property for its prime location in Whitby, cleanliness, and well-equipped nature. The central yet quiet setting is appreciated, as is the thoughtful touch of welcome refreshments. Some guests mention the challenge of stairs and occasional discomfort with seating and beds, but overall experiences are positive with many looking to return.
The majority of guests found the property to be exceptionally clean, with fresh towels and bedding. A few noted areas for improvement, such as the entrance walkway, but these were minor compared to the overall high standards of cleanliness.
The property's location is highly praised for being central and close to Whitby's attractions, yet quiet. Its proximity to amenities and the harbour is a recurring positive aspect in the reviews.
While many guests found the property comfortable and cosy, there were comments about the seating and beds being less comfortable. The presence of multiple stairs was also noted as a potential discomfort for some.
The property is generally well-regarded for its facilities, with a well-stocked kitchen and good heating. However, some guests mentioned the lack of a freezer and issues with maintenance such as a non-working radiator and socket.
Guests appreciated the thoughtful touches like welcome refreshments and parking permits. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such amenities may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

We found it a bit difficult to find as the SatNav directed us to the wrong street but the owner quickly explained where we needed to be. Parking is of a premium so once we found somewhere to park we left the car there for the duration of our stay. The parking permit was much appreciated.

Lovely cottage in middle of flower gate wouldn't recommend to anyone with bad legs as stairs or steep and there are 3 steep stair cases just had to make sure our dog didn't go down stairs to fast but he stayed down in kitchen anyway but parkin can be awkward but that's the council overall we would gladly book burns yard again if ever we over that way
