Guests say

This summary has been generated using feedback from guests who have stayed at this property

Cedar View is a charming cottage appreciated for its quiet location within walking distance of Whitby and the Abbey. Guests enjoy the cosy atmosphere, log burner, and the bonus of allocated parking. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness niggles are mentioned, the overall experience is positive with many guests looking forward to returning.

Cleanliness

The cottage receives mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some guests found it exceptionally clean, others noted dust, cobwebs, and unclean kitchenware. The bathroom cleanliness, particularly the shower head, was a recurring concern.

Location

The location is highly praised for being peaceful and close to local attractions, with easy access to walks and the town centre. The uneven lane leading to the cottage is noted, but the convenience of the location outweighs this for most guests.

Comfort

Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, though some mention the sofas and bed could be more supportive. The presence of a log burner adds to the comfort, but issues with hot water supply and heating controls are noted.

Facilities

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good shower. However, guests mention missing items like oven gloves, bread knives, and wood for the burner. Some appliances lack instructions, and maintenance issues like garden upkeep and a problematic door lock are highlighted.

Thoughtfulness

Guests appreciate touches like milk and biscuits on arrival, though it's politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed. Some guests suggest that a more generous provision of essentials and clearer instructions would enhance the thoughtfulness of the hosts.
