Original features like sliding windows and first class railway seats seamlessly combine with spectacular views across the beautiful rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Moors. The property offers superbly appointed accommodation including a master en-suite double, separate sitting room and a lovely galley-style kitchen with breakfast bar. Sited alongside the Old Hawsker Railway Station this accommodation is a great alternative to Whitby cottages and it offers great views; Whitby and the sea are seen just over the fields. The old railway no longer has running trains, but is now a 20 mile coastal cycle/walking trail. It's a great day out for all with trail-side pubs, cafes, stunning sea views and plenty of fresh air! This route is a great traffic-free link into Whitby without the hassle of parking. The owners offer cycle hire or the chance to buy your own cycles making this a fantastic base for heading out and exploring this area!
The village of Hawsker is half way between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay on the North Yorkshire coast. This small village has a local pub which serves food and is close to the Cleveland Way. Just a couple of miles to the south is the quaint fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay with its steeply sloping main street and numerous craft shops, whilst to the north is the famous abbey town of Whitby with its glorious harbour, sandy beaches and fantastic fish and chip restaurants.
