Guests consistently praise Rockpool Retreat for its spotless condition, comfortable furnishings, and peaceful location. The lodge is well-equipped, offering a homely atmosphere with thoughtful touches, including a generous welcome pack. Its proximity to scenic walks and local amenities adds to the appeal, although some guests noted minor issues with maintenance and the transparency of curtains.
Reviewers frequently commend the lodge for its spotless and well-maintained state, with many expressing appreciation for the high standard of cleanliness. A single mention of a 'doggy' odour in the furniture suggests a slight deduction, but overall, the property is celebrated for its cleanliness.
The lodge's location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to the beach and coastal paths. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting and the convenience for exploring the North Yorkshire coast. Some difficulty in finding the lodge in the dark is noted, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback on location.
Comfort is a strong point for this property, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the lodge cosy. However, there are comments about the thin curtains in the bedrooms allowing in too much light, which could affect sleep quality for some.
The lodge is well-equipped with facilities that guests find satisfactory for a comfortable stay. There are mentions of a non-functional TV in the bathroom and issues with a gate code, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance. Despite these minor issues, the overall sentiment towards the facilities is very positive.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident from the numerous mentions of a welcome pack, which guests found delightful. It is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are subject to the hosts' discretion and may not be a guaranteed feature of every stay.

There was a lovely welcome basket which was a really nice touch. There was an abundance of games for the children that were also appreciated and not expected. The instructions to the site were accurate as were the gate and key codes. We had a fantastic trip and will definitely be returning and will re come d to our friends. Janine and Garry
