Ascot Cottage is a well-regarded, cosy holiday rental in a friendly village, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable bed, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including a welcome pack and dog amenities. The location is ideal for walks and exploring nearby York, though the steep steps and staircase may not suit those with mobility issues.
Guests consistently note the cottage's spotless condition and the thorough job done by the cleaner, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness.
The cottage is appreciated for its quiet village setting and proximity to walks and York. However, the closure of a nearby pub and the mention of roadside parking slightly affect the perfect score.
The comfort of the cottage is frequently mentioned, with a super comfortable bed and a cosy atmosphere enhanced by a wood burner. The steep stairs are a noted drawback for some.
The cottage is well-equipped with a modern bathroom and kitchen, though comments about the lack of a washing machine and the small dining area suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful extras provided, such as dog treats and a welcome pack. While these are highly appreciated, it's important to note that such gifts are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Had a lovely stay
Simon
On arrival we found no off road parking and access was via a set of 9 stone steep steps. Also within the cottage the access to the upper floor is via a steep and winding staircase. None of these were in the original advertisement.
Christine
We very much enjoyed our stay at Acorn cottage. (Fish and chip van on a Thursday was an added bonus)
